A garden village is a development of between 1500 and 10,000 homes.  Each village is different and is designed to a high standard to make sure it meets the housing needs of the local area.

Rather than being a housing estate, a garden village includes community facilities e.g. shops and medical facilities to avoid concerns that the additional housing will put a strain on local services.

A development like this will boost the local economy by creating new jobs, improving transport links in the area and increasing GP and school places.

New homes are needed to meet the current and long term housing needs of the community making the area more sustainable in the future.  The new housing will give people more choice of where they want to live and with the variety of different types and tenures of homes available there is something to suit everyone, regardless of where they are on their housing journey.

Seaham Garden Village gives the opportunity to develop a new community with integrated services and facilities within walking distance of the new homes.

Many different types of homes will be built, including high quality executive homes as well as affordable homes to rent and buy.  Seaham Garden Village will be a mix of housing to meet the needs of the local community.

The development is a partnership of exceptional companies working in the region.

Construction work is expected to start on site in summer 2021.

Properties to buy will be advertised once they are ready to purchase. The site will be built in phases so houses will be released as each phase is launched.
