A garden village is a development of between 1500 and 10,000 homes. Each village is different and is designed to a high standard to make sure it meets the housing needs of the local area.
Rather than being a housing estate, a garden village includes community facilities e.g. shops and medical facilities to avoid concerns that the additional housing will put a strain on local services.
A development like this will boost the local economy by creating new jobs, improving transport links in the area and increasing GP and school places.
